NEWSLETTER #5

HELLO

People have been asking where I am travelling next (following my quiz from the last newsletter). I just came back from my home country, Canada (Calgary and Victoria), to visit friends and family. Colin's sister-in-law was hoping that the correct answer was "in an RV with our three cats"! While we have discussed this, I'm not sure that we would survive the trek!!

I am off to Paris in October/November on another photo workshop (without my Boo) and then to Tanzania in February.

I haven't been to Paris in several years so I am excited to go back and work on some street photography. The weather isn't the best at that time of year but I am happy to be there in cooler weather. Paris in summer can be brutally hot!

As some of you may know, Canada has two official languages - English and French. Except the French we know in Canada is not quite the same as the French in France. Canadian French is about 400 years old and has not been upgraded over the many years. Accordingly, sometimes when we use our "la langue Francaise", the French in France doesn't quite add up! Always a good time when you need to find a bathroom!

Now, Paris is something that everyone should see once. Some favourites:

Notre-Dame and Île Saint-Louis
Start your morning with an awe-inspiring visit to Notre‑Dame (recently reopened), followed by a stroll across the bridge to Île Saint‑Louis—perfect for café lounging and people‑watching.

Tuileries Garden & Musée de l’Orangerie
Wander through Tuileries’ fall foliage before discovering Monet’s Water Lilies at the Orangerie. (I was just in New York at the MOMA and saw Monet's water lilies paintings so I am excited to see these paintings).

Evening Seine Cruise
Wind down with a romantic Bateaux‑Mouches river cruise for classic views of the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, and more—magical at twilight.

On a completely different note, I only recommend content creators from whom I have purchased and whose work I love. Brandi Kabacinski has lovely clipart and other templates useful for photos. I've used several of her collage and other templates and love the end result.

She has an offering starting August 25th called: I ❤️ Clipart Mega Bundle + Live Challenge for a limited time only. This is a collection of 475+ adorable graphics across 8 themed packs (birthdays, cozy fall, Christmas, winter, and more!). They’re perfect for Kid's Printables, planners, PLR products, and POD (print on demand) designs.
